I hate Waiting...

So it's been a while since I have blogged... I've told you before, I am a terrible blogger.   Deal with it.

Now, I am a fan of the Walking Dead... but I do not over analyze the crap out of each episode, so I may have missed things or overlooked others.  Regardless, let's get into this...

*** This post contains SPOILERS.  You have been warned ***

The Walking Dead.  I know not everyone watches this show... but I believe the majority of us knows of the show.  And if not, where have you been for the past 6 yrs?!

Season 6 ended with the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers.  Outrage crept across the internet as fans were infuriated by the choice made by the Powers That Be, to end the season with a death... and not let us know which character met such an ill fate. Honestly, after watching this I felt nauseated.

Seriously people...  it's 2016 and this is arguably the most popular show on TV.  The creators can do whatever they want and they know we will blindly keep watching. All good shows have cliff hangers.  Dynasty, Friends, 24, The Simpsons, Lost, Dallas.  As infuriating as the cliffhangers are, they bring us back.  That's what good writers/shows do - they keep bringing us back.

Am I upset about the finale of The Walking Dead - Sure... in the sense that it is such a LONG wait to find out who died.  There are theories floating all over the internet... I am leaning towards the Eugene and Glenn theories.  I honestly do not think that Daryl will be leaving us via Negan's Bat. And I simply cannot buy the theory that it was Carl who met that fate.

Okay -- Here is a quick rundown of my thoughts.

My reasoning for believing it could be Eugene (even though he is not in the list I mention below) is simply because he gave Rick the recipe for making bullets.  We really don't *need* him around anymore now that Rick can figure out how to make bullets.

It's not Daryl... simply because he IS Daryl.  He does not exist in the graphic novels.  The writers have free range with him.  I find it hard to believe they would use such an iconic scene on a character that does not exist in the comics.  Although this character is so well liked, using this method of death certainly would shake things up for the fans.  It should be noted though, the Powers That Be, do like to mix things up.  On the show Denise suffered the fate of Abraham from the comics.  Let's face it, Daryl likely has the largest fan base of any of the characters, killing him off could hurt ratings.

Despite this picture that has been flying around Twitter, I do not believe this is a silhouette
of Carl before getting smashed with Lucille.  I think it is some type of trick with the shadows that just appears to be shaped similarly to Carl's hat to throw fans off.  Negan looks to his right briefly and states, "Anybody moves, anybody says anything, cut the boy's other eye out and feed it to his father."  Now, IF Negan were killing Carl 1) he would be able to take the eye out himself and feed it to Rick and 2) he should be looking to his left, where Rick was located in relation to Carl.  Since Negan glances to his right (indicating this is where Rick and Carl are located) the victim is someone to Rick's right... indicating one of the following Maggie, Abraham, Michonne, Daryl, Roista or Glenn.

I have no theories on Maggie, Michonne or Rosita because I simply do not believe any of them died in this scene.  Maggie is suffering some kind of sickness, perhaps from the pregnancy and fans have been told we will learn Maggie's diagnosis.  If she were the one to have been killed, I don't think we would learn what was wrong -- it's not like they customarily preform autopsies on this show.

So... Glenn.  I do like the character of Glenn, and it is sad to think the show will carry on without him but is my belief that the creators will stay true to the comics, and Glenn will be the one to meet death by bat.

Audio clarity in the final scene offers clues to support this theory.  Or you could simply use a visual analysis and deduct that Glenn is the unlucky one.  Time will tell...
